Lewis Hamilton grabs pole for Canadian Grand Prix

British driver Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) grabbed his 44th career pole and 4th in Canada with a super fast lap early on in Q3 clocking 0.309 seconds faster that team mate Nico Rosberg which also was not beaten in their final runs. Ferrari´s Kimi Raikonen came in third fastest while Sebastian Vettel failed to progress out of Q1.

Fernando Alonso on the underpowered McLaren qualified 14th while team mate Jenson Button failed to take part in the qualifying and is solely at the discretion of the race stewards decision for participating in the race.
